Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 January 2025
These terms explain the basis on which Middleton Blinds & Shutters supplies blinds, shutters and related services. We do not accept orders or payments through our website. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.
1. About us
Middleton Blinds & Shutters is a family-run made-to-measure blinds and shutters specialist, trading since 1998.
Unit 14, Middleton Trade Park, Oldham Road, Middleton, Manchester, M24 1QZ.
Telephone: 0161 654 6767. Email: sales@middletonblinds.co.uk. Website: middletonblinds.co.uk.
2. Quotations and free home measure
We offer a free, no-obligation home measure. One of our advisors will visit your home, measure your windows and talk through the options with you.
Following the measure, we will provide a written quotation. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
Unless stated otherwise, quoted prices include the product, fitting, VAT and delivery within our covered area.
3. Orders and payment
A deposit confirms your order and your place in our production schedule. All orders require a 50% deposit.
The balance is due on installation day. We accept bank transfer, most major cards and cash.
Once production has begun, we are unable to accept amendments or cancellations for a change of mind, as your blinds are made to measure specifically for your windows.
Goods remain the property of Middleton Blinds & Shutters until they have been paid for in full.
4. Product descriptions, samples and colours
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions and photographs on our website and in our other materials are accurate. However, colours and finishes may look different depending on your screen, lighting and the materials used.
Where samples are available, we recommend viewing one before confirming your selection. Samples are a guide only: fabrics, dyes and natural materials may vary slightly between batches. Natural wood may also vary in shade, grain and appearance. We cannot guarantee an exact match between a sample and a finished product, or between products ordered at different times.
5. Measurements
Our blinds and shutters are made to measure.
If you provide measurements, you are responsible for their accuracy. If we take the measurements, please check the written specifications provided to you and tell us promptly if you believe anything is incorrect. We will explain any measuring requirements before proceeding.
We cannot accept responsibility for a product not fitting where the measurements supplied by you are incorrect, unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
6. Made-to-measure products
Made-to-measure products are produced to the specifications agreed for your property. Before confirming an order, please check the product, material, colour, finish, measurements and other details carefully.
Once production has started, changes or cancellation may not be possible, and costs may be payable. Your cancellation rights depend on the circumstances and the type of product. In particular, exceptions may apply to goods made to your specifications. We will explain the applicable terms before you commit to an order.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
7. Installation
Our own experienced fitters install every blind and shutter we supply. We will agree a fitting date with you in advance and take care to work cleanly and respectfully in your home.
You must provide safe and reasonable access to the property for any agreed survey, delivery or fitting appointment, and tell us in advance about relevant access restrictions or site conditions. If we cannot carry out the agreed work because access is unavailable or the site is not ready, we will arrange a new appointment with you and explain any additional charge before it is incurred.
If you believe an installation is incorrect, you must contact us promptly so we can put it right.
8. Faults, damage and complaints
Please inspect products and fitting work as soon as reasonably possible and contact us promptly if you notice damage, a fault or a problem with the work. Include your name, order details and a description of the issue; photographs may help us assess it.
We will investigate and, where appropriate, arrange a repair, replacement or other remedy in accordance with your legal rights. We may ask to inspect the product or for it to be returned where reasonable.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights concerning faulty, misdescribed or incorrectly supplied goods or services.
9. Guarantees
Every product we supply is covered by the manufacturer's guarantee against faults in materials and workmanship, together with our own guarantee on the workmanship of the installation.
Any additional guarantee we offer will be described in writing with your quotation or order documents. Guarantee terms may specify what is covered, how long cover lasts and how to make a claim.
A guarantee does not replace or limit your statutory rights.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer legislation.
If you have any concerns about your order, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve the matter with you directly.
11. Use of this website
